The Department of Philosophy at CMU is a research-oriented department that focuses on scientific, mathematical, and formal philosophy. It is home to the Center for Formal Epistemology, which hosts three workshops every year and sponsors international conferences. The lead researcher at the CMU node is Kevin Zollman, one of the most cited formal epistemologists in the world. Zollman will contribute his expertise in disagreement resolution procedures as well as agent-based models for simulating different strategies for dividing epistemic labor.
